Belfry@UVic with Nancy Palk & Joseph Ziegler

An up close conversation, moderated by Michael Elliott, with two of the lead actors in The Children by Lucy Kirkwood at the Belfry Theatre (September 17 – October 13). Robin and Hazel are two retired nuclear scientists who live in a seaside cottage in England. But all is not as it seems. Their electricity is restricted to evenings, and they have a Geiger counter in the kitchen.

Nancy Palk 

Nancy is and actor, director, and a founding member of Soulpepper Theatre. She and her husband Joe Ziegler last performed at the Belfry in 1980, in Da. She is a Founding Member of Soulpepper Theatre in Toronto, acting in and directing a number of productions there. Nancy has performed at Tarragon, Stratford, Shaw, NYC, and in film and television. She has taught at NTS, Tarragon and Soulpepper.

Joseph Ziegler 

Joseph has over 30 years of experience in theatre, film and television, and is widely recognized as an accomplished director and actor, and a founding member of Soulpepper Theatre. He began his career in theatre and has worked on over five dozen stage productions, a number of which were produced at Soulpepper Theatre. His work spans a wide variety of genres, to acclaimed television series. He is also a winner of the 2002, 2005, 2008 and 2011 Dora Mavor Moore Award for outstanding performance by a male.
