This March, the Department of Theatre invites you to get up close and personal with its rich history and the theatre community as it transforms into a Human Library for a day. Instead of taking out books to read, come borrow specially selected people – listen to their stories, get their unique perspectives, and ask them anything you’d like.
Enter the lobby of the Phoenix Theatre and discover the circulation desk where our volunteers will register you with your own Human Library card, allowing you to borrow one of twenty possible human books. Choose from titles like “Actor”, “Playwright” or “Producer” and sign one out and be connected to the person behind that title. A one-on-one informal conversation will begin and the rest is up to you. Interact live with Phoenix pioneers, current educators and industry professionals. Whether you wish to learn about the past, or make connections for the future, there will be a book for you.
- This event is FREE
- Everyone is welcome
- Human books are available on a first come, first serve basis
- Bookings can only be made the day of the event – starting at 9:30am, half an hour before the Human Library opens
