Stacey Ashworth is a Canadian screenwriter currently living in Victoria, BC. She received her BFA in Creative Writing from the University of Victoria and her MFA in Screenwriting from the University of Texas at Austin. Her short scripts have screened both in North America and internationally, with her self-directed short film, No Breath Play, winning the Metropol Audience Award for Best Short Film at the Victoria Film Festival in 2016.

Stacey has been a script analyst for Sundance in Los Angeles (where she read and wrote coverage on 108 scripts in preparation for their Screenwriters Lab), as well as for the production company Electric City Entertainment (Half Nelson, Captain Fantastic). She has developed and lead screenwriting lectures through CineVic: Independent Society of Filmmakers where she was also the President of the Board from 2015-2017.

Stacey is currently working on her feature script, Red Sunrise Over Norwalk, which was optioned by Galaxy Sailor Productions in 2018, and her feature treatment, Open For Submissions, co-written with Bryan Skinner, is currently in post-production. She's also producing the short film, Out of Sound, written and directed by UVic alumni Julia Dillon-Davis, which is also in post-production.
