Biography

Tom Prime was born in Abbotsford, British Columbia and moved to Fergus, Ontario when he was ten. He recently completed his Bachelor of Arts degree, at Western University, with honours and distinction. He has been published in Carousel, Ditch, Stuart Ross’ new magazine, and Vallum. He has a forthcoming publication in Fjords Review. Most recently, his first chapbook was published on Proper Tales Press.

Tom writes from the perspectives of marginalized and traumatized people. His own experiences with homelessness and abuse have generated a desire for educational reform. He writes to create more open discussion about subjects that are often considered taboo within the classroom. His inspirations are many and varied, but he loves the poetry of Kathryn Mockler, bill bissett, Stuart Ross, and Emily Dickinson.
