AJ Ripley is a nonbinary, trans-masculine writer and academic. They are currently working on their SSHRC-funded doctoral dissertation, which explores transgender representation in popular and digital cultures, at the University of New Brunswick. AJ has been widely published online, including such sites as: The New York Times, VICE, and CBC. AJ's blog, www.transcanadamyway.com, featured a weekly textual and visual account of the first 90 weeks of their gender transition and made national and international headlines. They are also the writer and creator of the comedy web series, Babe, which aired on YouTube in 2016.

AJ currently lectures in both the Human Rights and Communications & Public Relations departments at St. Thomas University.
