Peter Boychuk has worked across the country as a playwright, director, actor and dramaturge. His first full-length play, Shelter from the Storm, was selected for Playwright Theatre Centre’s Flying Start program and will close Touchstone Theatre’s 2011/2012 season. His one-act plays include Afterglow, which is published in the anthology Two Hands Clapping and has been produced at schools and universities across Canada; Fritters in Kandahar, winner of Solo Collective’s Emerging Writers competition; Chainmail Bikini, which premiered at the Calgary Fringe Festival; Red Mitts, which was showcased at the 2011 BC Buds Festival at the Firehall Arts Centre; and Fortunate Son, which won Best of the Fest at the 2007 ACToberfest Theatre Festival, an Honourable Mention at the Canadian National Playwriting Competition, and the Stanley Mills Purchase Prize. He has directed the premieres of numerous new plays, including Prodigals for Twenty-Something Theatre in Vancouver, The Chamber for Dark Horse Theatre in Montreal, and Nothing Like The Sun at Sage Theatre’s 2007 Ignite Festival in Calgary.
