Ticket Purchase Policies

Play selections serve the academic requirements of the Department of Theatre and are subject to change. The Phoenix will contact subscribers about any program changes as soon as information is available.

All tickets are non-refundable. Single tickets can be exchanged for an alternate performance of the same play, subject to availability, with at least 24 hours notice and a service charge.

A ticket must be purchased (and a seat assigned) for all children attending a Phoenix production for fire regulation purposes. While occasionally the Phoenix Theatre produces family-friendly plays, the majority of our productions are geared towards those aged 14+. Please see individual show pages to find specific age recommendations. Feel free to contact the Box Office with any questions.

Customer Services

Infrared Listening Devices
Listening devices are available at no charge for our mainstage theatres. Ask at the Box Office when you arrive.

Sign Language Interpretation
The Phoenix presents sign language interpretation for one play each season during the Saturday matinee. Check play listings or call the Box Office for more information.

Pre-Show Lectures
Lectures are presented by noted scholars on the first Friday of each production. Tickets for these evenings sell out early in the season to subscribers, however these lectures are free and open to all Phoenix patrons no matter which performance you are attending. Lectures are often recorded and audio files posted on the show page on the website. Sign up for BackstagePASS eNews for updates on lecture content and guest speakers.

Parking Areas

The Phoenix Theatre is accessed easily from parking lot 6 (and overflow parking in lot 10) on the west side of the UVic Campus. There is a passenger drop-off area close to the building as well as several parking stalls for our physically-challenged patrons.

Parking Fees

The University of Victoria charges for parking in all campus parking lots Monday through Saturday. Evening parking permits are available for a flat rate of $2.50 for weekday evenings (6 p.m. until midnight) and Saturday (24 hours). There is no charge for parking on Sundays or holidays.

Permits can be purchased with coin or credit cards through automated machines at campus entrances and in the parking lot adjacent to the Phoenix Theatre (Lot 6). Multiple-visit permits will be available through Campus Security Services.

The revenue from pay parking offsets the cost of sustainable transportation programs at UVic, including subsidized student bus passes and cycling facilities. For more information contact Campus Security Services at 250-721-6683.
