The Department of Theatre at the University of Victoria has been educating the theatre artists of tomorrow since 1966. Graduates of our program have become an integral part of the arts community in Victoria and across Canada. Blending academics with hands-on learning, our students are part of all our Phoenix productions – from acting and directing, to the design, creation and management of sets, costumes, props, sound and lighting. To learn more please click here or contact the Department Secretary.

Parking

Parking Areas The Phoenix Theatre is accessed easily from parking lot 6 (and overflow parking in lot 10) on the west side of the UVic Campus. There is a passenger drop-off area close to the building as well as several parking stalls for our physically-challenged patrons.

Parking Fees The University of Victoria charges for parking in all campus parking lots Monday through Saturday.

Permits can be purchased with coin or credit cards through automated machines at campus entrances and in the parking lot adjacent to the Phoenix Theatre (Lot 6). Please note that paper permits will no longer be issued by the machines. Users must enter their licence plate number into the machines when paying. You will no longer need to return to your car afterwards and can enter directly into the theatre. For more information on this new process and the licence plate recognition monitoring program by Campus Security Services, read their detailed description here.

  • Saturday parking permits are available for a fate rate of $3.00 for 24 hours.
  • There is no charge for parking on Sundays or holidays.
