Mac Remote Access

The SIM supports two methods of remote access to My Files and Class Files. The 'Mac Finder' method connects using the same process we use in the SIM computer labs. Connecting this way simply uses the remote connection capabilities of the OS X operating system.

The alternate 'SFTP' connection method uses third party software to connect and is equal in function to the 'Mac Finder' method, though all of the file transfer operations occur through the application and not the operating system. We recomend using the SFTP method as a backup to the Finder method.
