Media Equipment Borrowing Agreement
- A valid UVic ONECard must be presented when borrowing equipment.
- The Media Equipment Borrowing Agreement must be signed each academic year.
- A training session or course may be required prior to borrowing equipment.
- All contents must be returned in the same condition as when borrowed. Staff will examine equipment with students when it is borrowed and returned.
- Equipment may be borrowed for up to two loan days and must be returned during the posted return time.
- Reservations are made in advance on a first-come-first-served basis.
- Renewals may be requested and will be granted based on availability
- Students are responsible for their own data. Any data stored on the equipment may be erased upon return and may not be recoverable.
- The Borrower must return the loaned equipment in person.
- If equipment is not returned by the due time, the user will be assessed late fines at $20 per day to a maximum of $100. These fines are due immediately. Unpaid fines will immediately revoke equipment-borrowing privileges. If fines remain unpaid, UVic reserves the right to place a hold on the borrower’s student account.
- Borrowers must not leave the borrowed equipment unattended. If the equipment or accessories are damaged, lost, or stolen, the borrower is responsible for the cost of repair or replacement.
- Abuse of this policy may lead to removal of equipment borrowing privileges. Abuse will be reported to the borrower’s Department and other loaning groups on campus.
