Media Equipment Borrowing Agreement

  1. A valid UVic ONECard must be presented when borrowing equipment.
  2. The Media Equipment Borrowing Agreement must be signed each academic year.
  3. A training session or course may be required prior to borrowing equipment.
  4. All contents must be returned in the same condition as when borrowed. Staff will examine equipment with students when it is borrowed and returned.
  5. Equipment may be borrowed for up to two loan days and must be returned during the posted return time.
  6. Reservations are made in advance on a first-come-first-served basis.
  7. Renewals may be requested and will be granted based on availability
  8. Students are responsible for their own data. Any data stored on the equipment may be erased upon return and may not be recoverable.
  9. The Borrower must return the loaned equipment in person.
  10. If equipment is not returned by the due time, the user will be assessed late fines at $20 per day to a maximum of $100. These fines are due immediately. Unpaid fines will immediately revoke equipment-borrowing privileges. If fines remain unpaid, UVic reserves the right to place a hold on the borrower’s student account.
  11. Borrowers must not leave the borrowed equipment unattended. If the equipment or accessories are damaged, lost, or stolen, the borrower is responsible for the cost of repair or replacement.
  12. Abuse of this policy may lead to removal of equipment borrowing privileges. Abuse will be reported to the borrower’s Department and other loaning groups on campus.
