The Studios for Integrated Media (SIM)
The SIM is available to Faculty of Fine Arts faculty, staff, and students currently enrolled in at least one fine arts course or program. The SIM provides computer lab work spaces, photo printing and scanning facilities, a wide range of media equipment for loan and other resources for both school projects and personal reserach projects.
About
The Studios for Integrated Media offers multiple digital facilities for fine arts students, faculty, and staff including two computer labs equipped with high quality photo printing and scanning resources, access to a range of digital editing and production software, and media equipment loan services.
Computer labs are staffed with workstudy students for technical support and technical staff who can offer guidance with any of these resources, including in-depth technical demonstrations and project consultations.

The SIM is open during the winter terms and closed on statutory holidays.
September 4 — Open for the first term
September 30 — Closed for National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

November 11– 13 — Reading Break
December 13 — Closed for the winter break
January 6 — Open for the second term
Feb 17 — Closed for Family Day
Feb 17 – 21 — Reading Break
April 14 – 25th – limited hours 9am – 4pm
April 18 & April 21st — Closed for Easter

Location
Where are we located?
Our primary SIM Labs are located in the Fine Arts Building, which is located across the Ring Road from the MacLaurin Building, right next to Finnerty Gardens. Accessed from parking lot 6 or 10 on the west side of the UVic Campus.
