Interested in studying flute at UVic?

MESSAGE FOR UNDERGRADUATE APPLICANTS:  I am pleased you are considering attending the University of Victoria, and I look forward to meeting and hearing you. Auditions will be held in spring of 2018, specific dates TBA.
For general information regarding our undergraduate audition and application process, including flute audition repertoire recommendations, please see
Although a collaborative pianist is not absolutely required for incoming undergraduate auditions, it is strongly recommended. If you need a pianist for your audition, please contact one of the following three recommended local pianists (they are all excellent!): Charlotte Hale:  or

Alanna Kazdan:  or

Tzenka Dianova:

Please make arrangements with the pianist directly (regarding rehearsals, audition slot and repertoire needs, etc). If you need additional names of local collaborative pianists, please email me directly at

For undergraduate applicants coming from other regions of the world: In addition to the three regular audition dates offered by the school, I often am able to arrange alternative dates that might coincide better with your travels to Victoria. Please feel free to contact me via email at if you need an alternative audition date. We also accept recorded auditions. However, it is advantageous to audition in person. Every music school is quite unique, and you will be able to get a much better sense of the campus, the faculty and the general atmosphere by visiting in person!
