November 18, 2021 @ 12:00 pm - 12:50 pm

Sharon Krebs, soprano & Harald Krebs, piano
Anne Grimm, soprano & Bruce Vogt, piano
Colleen Eccleston, guitar & vocals

In this School of Music faculty concert, soprano and piano duo Sharon and Harald Krebs, perform two songs by Florence Price, the first African-American woman to be recognized as a symphonic composer, and the first to have a composition played by a major orchestra. Pianist Bruce Vogt accompanies soprano Anne Grimm in the performance of songs by Poldowski, a pseudonym of marginalized Belgian-born British composer and pianist Régine Wieniawski. Singer-songwriter Colleen Eccleston will close the concert with a set of original music including a healing song composed especially for this event.

This event is part of UVic’s fourth annual Five Days of Action: 365 Days of Commitment, taking place from November 15-19.
