UVic Voice Ensemble: Acis and Galatea

Presenting a staged concept of Handel’s beautiful pastoral drama, Acis and Galatea, about love, jealousy, and the power of devotion.

Canadian tenor and violinist Larry Beckwith enjoys a successful and versatile career in the arts in and around Toronto with roles ranging from radio producer and sound designer to journalist and teacher. Tenor Isaiah Bell (BMus ’08) has been performing in prestigious venues across Canada, the United States and Europe. Recent projects include the role of Antinous in the world premiere of Rufus Wainwright’s Hadrian at the Canadian Opera Company (October 2018) as well as solo debuts with Opera Atelier (Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria), the Caramoor Festival, the Innsbruck Festival of Early Music, and the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra.
