solastalgia [soon to be what once was]: Closing night panel talk
September 6, 2024 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Join us for the closing presentation of solastalgia [soon to be what once was], an evocative intermedia art installation by Megan Harton, the 2024 Ocean Networks Canada (ONC) Artist-in-Residence. This immersive exhibition, on view in the Audain Gallery, explores themes of ecological grief and nostalgia through a compelling blend of sound, photography, and retro iconography.
On the final evening of the exhibition, experience a thought-provoking panel discussion featuring Harton alongside Neil Griffin (2023 ONC Artist-in-Residence) and Pieter Romer (Filmmaker & ONC Indigenous Community Liaison); moderated by Dwight Owens (ONC Associate Director of Learning and Community Engagement). The panel will delve into ArtScience collaborations and artistic responses to climate change and ocean science.
This event offers a unique opportunity to engage with the intersections of art and environmental science, and to reflect on the urgent issues facing our planet.
