Orion Lecture: Musical aptitude and the development of expertise

Orion Series in Fine Arts
Dr. Jane Ginsborg, Musician & Psychologist
What is musical aptitude and how does musical expertise develop? These two questions are based on two different sets of assumptions: first, that individuals have inherited a gift to be musical, and second, that individuals can acquire expertise through being motivated to learn music and put in the work needed to do so. In this lecture Dr. Jane Ginsborg will address these assumptions, and show how these questions have been answered.
