A Day in the Life at the School of Music
Get a glimpse into daily life at the School of Music. Take a tour of the facilities, attend a concert, lecture or masterclass. This will be a great opportunity to meet students and faculty or to connect with fellow alumni.
All are welcome to attend this free event!

12-12:20 PM: Guided building tour
Take a stroll through the backstage of the Phillip T. Young Recital Hall and recording booth, see where the students practice and have classes.

School of Music brass students and instructors play your favourite festive holiday hits.
The group will start in the MacLaurin B-Wing Lobby before traveling to other locations on campus.
1:30-2:20 PM: Music in the lobby
Enjoy performances by School of Music students while you sip a cup of hot apple cider and browse the collection of photographs and posters from the School of Music’s archives.

1:30-2:15 PM: String Techniques Class with Ann Elliott-Goldschmid
Music Education students must learn how to play all manner of instruments. Learning to play the violin is no easy task! However everyone in the class has learned how to use the bow and the fundamentals of finger placement on the fingerboard. Come listen as the class reviews the beginning violin repertoire that they have learned over the semester. “Twinkle Twinkle” anyone?
