Orion Series in Fine Arts with funding from the UVic Alumni Association
In a UVic Minute: Concert of Miniatures

Heather Roche, clarinet (BMus ’05), Orion Guest
Tzenka Dianova, piano (MMus ’00)
Cuarteto Chroma, Graduate string quartet

A smorgasbord of miniature compositions — some written especially for this occasion — by School of Music alumni.

Heather Roche performs regularly across Europe as a soloist and in chamber ensembles such as musikFabrik and hand werk. She is also Reviews Editor for TEMPO, a quarterly journal for contemporary music published by Cambridge University Press, and her website is host to one of the most widely read new music blogs on the Internet.

Hailed by the press as a “pianistic phenomenon”, Tzenka Dianova is a concert pianist, chamber musician, teacher and 20th-Century music specialist.

Mexico’s Chroma Quartet are currently enrolled in the Masters in String Quartet Performance Program at UVic under the tutelage of the Lafayette String Quartet.

This event is part of the School of Music’s 50th Anniversary New Music & Digital Media Festival.
