Faculty Concert Series: Sorcery, Witchcraft, and Fantasy
October 27, 2022 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Faculty Chamber Music
Sorcery, Witchcraft, and Fantasy
Join UVic School of Music faculty and guests from the Faculty of Fine Arts in an evening of music, theatre and poetry celebrating the history, reality and misconceptions of witchcraft.
Enjoy brass quintet renditions of March to the Scaffold, Macbeth, and Nordic Tales, a scene from the Feb ’23 Phoenix Theatre production of Vinegar Tom, poetry by celebrated witch and UVic Writing Department co-founder Robin Skelton, vocal arias and songs based on sinister fantasy, and learn to sing the Wiccan Goddess chant — a timely occasion to ring in the season of spirits.
Performers include: Merrie Klazek (trumpet), Steven Donegan (trumpet), Sam McNally (horn), Scott MacInnes (trombone), Paul Beauchesne (tuba), Benjamin Butterfield (tenor), Bruce Vogt (piano), Virginia Acuña (musicology), John Threlfall (Fine Arts), Sasha Kovacs (Theatre) and more.
