Emerging Artists Alumni Series
Adam Dyjach, tenor
James Yi, piano
A native of Waterloo Ontario, Adam Dyjach (MMus ’14) commenced his musical education at Wilfrid Laurier University before completing his MMus at UVic under the direction of Benjamin Butterfield. Adam is a choral scholar at St. Barnabas Church under the direction of Michael Jarvis. He also sings with the Schooner Cove Singers. In the past Adam has been a member of the St. Christopher Singers, Victoria Philharmonic Choir, Victoria Choral Society and Pacific Opera Victoria Chorus. He teaches private singing lessons and is a music instructor at the Taber Music School.
James Yi (BMus ’15) began his musical education in clarinet performance under the tutelage of Patricia Kostek. His journey took him into the field of collaborative piano, with the guidance of Arthur Rowe, accompanying for the Glenlyon Norfolk School, Salt Spring Singers, Cordova Bay United Church, and various soloists and musicals. He is also a member of Victoria’s Baroque chamber group the Raven Baroque and teaches clarinet and piano lessons privately. In the past, he has performed with the UVic Orchestra, the UVic Wind Symphony, GVYO, GVCB, and the Meridiem Wind Orchestra.
