Recently, he worked with the Frankfurt Radio Orchestra (hr-sinfonieorchester), the Hungarian Radio Orchestra, the Transparent Sound Festival in Budapest, and members of the Ensemble Intercontemporain in Paris. Past years have seen him conducting most major Hungarian orchestras, Radio-Symphonieorchester Vienna, Wroclaw Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as reoccurring engagements at the Darmstadt New Music Festival, SiMN (Curitiba - BR) and Wien Modern. He is co-founder of the SALT Festival in Victoria. Csaba started off by winning prizes as a composer in Hungary, Austria and later in Germany. His opera conducting debut was for the Hungarian première of Shostakovich’s Cheryomoushki. He graduated from the University of Music Vienna with distinction and worked as Kapellmeister at the Studiobühne Wein. As conductor of the multimedia concert cycles Hermes and recycled in 2008–2010, he directed the Central European Chamber Orchestra in the prime concert halls of Bratislava, Prague, Cracow, Bucharest, Budapest, the Konzerthaus, and Austrian Broadcast in Vienna as well as concert tours in China. His research on conducting gestures has been featured at conferences of the Oxford Conducting Institute and ISGS 7th International Conference in Paris. Csaba has recently completed the recording of orchestral compositions by Canadian composer Istvan Anhalt with the SALT Festival Orchestra and the Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, for the label Centrediscs. Lindsay Delaronde My name is Lindsay Katsitsakatste Delaronde, a Kanienke’haka woman of Kahnawake, QC. For the past 12 years I have been a grateful, active and contributing guest on Lekwungen territory, Victoria, BC. I hold a Master of Fine Arts and Master of Arts in the Indigenous Communities Counseling Psychology Program from the University of Victoria. I am currently the Indigenous Resurgence Coordinator for the Fine Arts department at UVic. My areas of research are Contemporary and Traditional First Nations art and expressive arts therapy, working with Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples incorporating arts and counseling. My artistic practice focuses on Indigenous theatre, land-based/ site-specific performance art, collaborative practice, cultural resurgence and social/political activism through the arts. My artistic media include photography, performance, and visual studio arts, which enables me to engage in creating �and sharing critically informed, culturally competent Indigenous art across various disciplines. I combine my Indigenous world-view, cultural understanding, academic learning and artistic skills to inform my arts practice and my ability to share Indigenous perspectives with the public in a good way. Xheni Sinaj, piano Xheni Sinaj was born in Elbasan, Albania and started piano lessons at the age of 6. She graduated from Jordan Misja High School, a reputable, specialized public arts high school in Tirana, Albania (almost every famous Albanian artist within Albania and in today’s diaspora is an alumnus). She completed her undergraduate studies at a specialized public arts university, University of Arts Tirana, under the famous Albanian pianist, Professor Anita Tartari, as well as with Professor Marin Gjollma. Xheni has participated in many competitions, including the National Piano Competition, Songs of the Earth, held in Saranda, where she was awarded the special prize in 2007, and first prize in 2009 and again in 2011. In 2012, she was a winner in the national piano competition, Pjeter Gaci, held in Shkoder, a town known for being the cradle of Albanian culture. In November 2011, she was invited to participate in concerts held in the castle of Tepelena and Gjirokaster, where she was soloist in Franz Liszt’s Piano Concerto No.1. As an undergraduate student, she was elected to participate in the 2014 Pianodrom International Piano Festival, a night dedicated to the Young Talents of Albania. In her second year, she was invited to accompany the baroque string ensemble of the University of Arts on the harpsichord. Xheni is currently a Master of Music student at the University of Victoria studying piano performance with Professor Arthur Rowe.
