Where does a degree in Art History & Visual Studies take you?

Art History and Visual Studies trains students to understand the active and open-ended role that the visual plays in daily lives. Students tell us that AHVS encourages them to think critically and creatively about the power of the visual in meeting today's global needs. Graduates work in a variety of post-degree careers, including:

  • Art Appraiser
  • Curator
  • Museum Educator
  • Heritage Consultant
  • Communications Officer
  • Archivist
  • Material Culture Conservationist
  • Public Relations Officer
  • Gallery Administrator
  • Marketing Officer

AHVS undergraduate majors have the option to earn an Undergraduate Diploma in Cultural Resource Management (CRM) concurrently with our undergraduate program. The CRM Diploma requires the successful completion of 10.0 course credits* beyond those required for the BA in art history. CRM course credits also be use to fulfill elective AHVS course requirements. Please contact CRM Program Coordinator Tusa Shea for additional information.

*Differential fees may apply.
