The AHVSGA believe that a strong relationship with our alumni greatly enriches the experience of our graduate students and fosters growth within our department.

Our alumni provide our students with a connection to the world beyond the grad room and the many facets of the field of Art History and Visual Studies. Through sharing their knowledge, experience and, network of contacts and opportunities, they greatly contribute to the future academic goals and professional development of our graduate students.

To honor the importance of this relationship, the AHVSGA is dedicated to connecting with our alumni and keeping them informed of our ongoing initiatives, events, and research within the department.

Current Events, Initiatives and More!
Visual Impetus is our yearly graduate student symposium where current graduate students from ours and other departments are invited to present papers on their current research. This symposium is a big event and an excellent way for our alumni to connect with current students and their amazing contributions to our department and the field of art history and visual studies. If you would like to donate to or volunteer for Visual Impetus please contact
The AHVSGA has been working hard to create and circulate an association newsletter. A significant part of this newsletter includes feature profiles of our alumni, their achievements, and how they have put their graduate degree in art history and visual studies to work! If you would like to share your story and be featured in one of our newsletters please contact
As many alumni may remember, ARTiculate is our graduate student journal published through the department. It has been an ongoing initiative of the AHVSGA to bring ARTiculate back into publication for the 2016/2017 year. If you would like to learn more about ARTiculate please visit ARTiculate. If you would like to contribute, become a peer-reviewer, or donate to ARTiculate, please contact

The AHVSGA offers a contact opt-in form for alumni to receive correspondence regarding our ongoing initiatives, invites to events, and copies of our association newsletter. If you would like to join our mailing list, please contact
