How have your History in Art studies helped you since you graduated?
It gave me an really sound base in research, writing, visual analysis and critical analysis. I am currently doing a PhD in the same field and feel extremely well prepared through the training I received in doing my Master's degree.

Brief Biography
Graduated from York University with a BA in History in 1964 and then did a Diploma in Education at the University of Victoria in 1971. I then spent the next 35 years working in the Justice, Information Technology and Health Administration fields. I was a Senior Manager for both the Federal and British Columbia Governments as well as in the non-profit and profit sectors. In 1987 I co-founded my own Company and functioned as its CEO/Managing Director until my retirement in 2007. In 2008/09 my wife and I studied in Italy and then in September 2009 I entered the History in Art Department and first completed a Qualifying Year, then an MA and am now a PhD student.
The Department's training, guidance and support were instrumental in my applying for and winning a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council Bombardier Fellowship in May, 2013. I am hoping to complete my dissertation in time for my 70th birthday in July, 2016.

I am married to Heather Lindstedt, who is a concert pianist, and have one son, who lives in Toronto and works as a Senior Economist in the Banking sector. He and his wife gave us our first grandchild (the most beautiful baby boy) in September, 2013.
