BiographyTerry Glavin is an author, journalist, blogger, occasional activist and teacher whose non-fiction has earned a more than a dozen writing awards including the Hubert Evans Prize for Non-Fiction, the British Columbia Lieutenant-Governor’s Award for Literary Excellence and several national and regional magazine writing awards. He is the author of seven books and the co-author of three. His forthcoming Come from The Shadows: Afghanistan’s Long and Lonely Struggle for Peace (Douglas & McIntyre) will be published in October. Terry has worked as a reporter, columnist and assistant city editor for the Daily Columbian and the Vancouver Sun and as a columnist for the Globe and Mail, the Georgia Straight and the Tyee. The founder and editor of Transmontanus Books (New Star, Vancouver), Terry is an adjunct professor in the Department of Creative Writing (MFA) at the University of British Columbia and a frequent contributor to newspapers and magazines as diverse as Canadian Geographic, Vancouver Review, Democratiya, National Post, Globe and Mail, Seed, Adbusters, and Lettre International (Berlin). |
