Biography

Patrick Friesen has published more than a dozen books of poetry and a book of essays.  He has also written several stage and radio plays, written text for dance, and recorded two CDs of spoken word and improv music with Marilyn Lerner.  Patrick won the Manitoba Book of the Year Award in 1996 and has been nominated twice for BC’s Dorothy Livesay Poetry Award and once for the Governor General’s Poetry Award.  After teaching creative writing for twelve years at Kwantlen University College in Vancouver, he now lives in Brentwood Bay.
