Oom Terdpravat 2011 Places and Things 2 - 30” x 24” Acrylic on Canvas

At UVic, students are encouraged to explore the realm of contemporary painting to its fullest. Starting in the foundation year, students begin to understand the basic elements of painting and address ideas prevalent in contemporary art through projects done in studio classes. Advanced students are encouraged to explore their own personal visions for painting and to develop a critical discourse related to their work. Critiques are an important part of the course structures.
