Academic advice is given to both prospective and current students.

School of Music

Application to the School of Music

All candidates to the Bachelor of Music program must complete separate applications to the University's Undergraduate Admissions and to the School of Music.

In addition to qualifying for admission to the university, you must also satisfy the School of Music's entrance requirements:

  1. In-person audition
  2. Interview
  3. Two letters of recommendation

The School's admission requirements can be completed in a one-day visit to the campus. For applicants seeking entrance for the following September, auditions are normally held in March and April. If you should happen to miss the published audition dates, you should still contact the music office, since alternative dates may be available.

If an in-person audition is not possible, you may apply for acceptance to the music program by submitting a high-quality audition tape, CD, or video recording. Applicants in strings should submit a video recording. The recording should include your performance of two contrasting works and should be received by the School no later than April 15. However, it is strongly recommended that you attend one of the Spring audition dates whenever possible.
