Love Kills
October 13 – 22, 2011
By Kyle Jarrow
Produced by Theatre Inconnu
Directed by Clayton Jevne
From the Obie Award-winning playwright, this critically acclaimed rock musical blends music and drama for a thought-provoking examination of the criminal and psychological aftermath of two teenage lovers following their shooting spree. Embroiled into this real life saga, based on the 1958 murders by Charlie Starkweather, are the small town sheriff who detains them and his wife, as all four are forced to examine their own humanity and assume responsibility for their actions. Advisory: Partial nudity, mature
subject matter and strong language.
REVIEWS:
"… a compelling and entertaining production. Jarrow forces us to consider that spree killers are people too… he merely advocates for humaneness and open-mindedness. And that's never a bad thing." Times Colonist
"Love Kills… and it rocks too!" "Go see it; you may not come out humming, but you certainly won't be disappointed." Monday Magazine (Top Pick, Nominated for M Award for Best Musical)

Rookery Nook
November 3-19, 2011
By Ben Travers
Directed by Bindon Kinghorn
Fast paced and full of witty
repartee, this stylish 1920s British farce is comparable to the comedies of Traver's
contemporary, Noel Coward. On
holiday at the Somerset seaside,
two fun-loving young friends,
Gerald and Clive, get caught
in a tangled web of silly white
lies and flirtatious innuendos.
But what's a gentleman to do
when a pretty girl arrives in wet pyjamas seeking protection
and a shoulder to cry on? With
tyrannical Nosey Parkers for
relatives and neighbourhood
busybodies lurking in the
kitchen (with the cat!), Gerald
could find his six-week old
marriage in the lurch!
Eurydice
February 16 -25, 2012
By Sarah Ruhl
Directed by MFA Candidate,
Jeffrey Pufahl
Award-winning playwright Sarah Ruhl boldly reimagines the classic myth of Orpheus
through the eyes of its quirky
heroine, Eurydice. Dying too young on her wedding day, Eurydice is
reunited with her long-lost father in the whimsical, Mad-Hatter realm of the
underworld, complete with singing stones and a creepy overlord on his bicycle. Here, she struggles to recall fading memories of
her life as both a bride and a daughter. Infused with the
melancholy music of Orpheus, Eurydice is magical, a little menacing, but definitely
compelling!
THE MAROWITZ HAMLET
March 15-24, 2012
By William Shakespeare & Charles Marowitz
Guest Director Charles Marowitz
What if one were to cut Shakespeare's masterpiece up
into individual lines and piece
it back together to tell the
story anew? This would be a
Marowitz play. Synonymous
to a contemporary "mash-up," Marowitz doesn't re-write
Shakespeare, but uses the
existing lines to bring new
insight and humour to speeches and
characters' motives. An acclaimed
playwright, director and critic,
Marowitz has worked closely with the Royal Shakespeare
Company, co-founded Encore
Magazine and is a regular
contributor to The New York
Times, The London Times, Theater Week, and American Theater.
